Lead NiFi Data Flow Engineers (x3) – TSPV Cleared

Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a key Defence organisation to engage three Lead NiFi Data Flow Engineers to deliver advanced data integration and pipeline capabilities within a highly secure environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical data programs supporting Australia’s national security and cyber operations.

The Role

As a Lead Data Engineer specialising in Apache NiFi, you will design, build and optimise complex data flows and pipelines, ensuring secure, scalable and high-performing data integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of data engineering solutions across complex programs
• Build and maintain NiFi data flows, templates and processors
• Integrate data from multiple sources into centralised platforms
• Apply data modelling techniques to support analytics and performance
• Ensure compliance with data standards, security and architecture frameworks
• Optimise performance and ensure high availability of data pipelines
• Drive CI/CD practices, monitoring and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data integration strategies

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience at Lead Data Engineer level (EL1 equivalent)
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache NiFi
• Advanced skills in data integration, pipeline development and data modelling
• Experience delivering solutions in secure, enterprise environments
• Degree in ICT, Data Science or equivalent experience

Security Requirements

• Current TSPV clearance is mandatory
• Must be eligible to obtain Positive Vetting
• Employer requires DISP membership

Contract Details

• Start Date: September 2026 (indicative)
• Initial Term: 12 months
• Extensions: 2 x 12-month options
• Location: ACT or SA (RAAF Edinburgh) – onsite
• Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
